inspirations: ayn rand

I first of all came across this name when I was doing my first year, probably my friends thought I was too young to read about her philosophical, controversial views.

Just after reading the introduction of The Fountainhead something influenced me, the right word would be 'disturbed'. This woman meant sense. Through her books she asked me one question, I am still unable to answer. Do you live life according to your own wishes?
Her philosophy objectivism can never be completely correct, but as an Indian I feel we should learn a lot from it. No religion is 100% right, all have flaws. But here the truth is much bigger than the flaws. She through her characters inspires us to value our life, believe in our own truth, strive for it(only for it) and not to get influenced (+vely or -vely) by others.

Though characters like howard roark, john galt may look inhuman (they are), but they inspire you. I am sure that Rand's worst critic would have got inspired or atleast been jealous of her heroic characters. Empathy, common good are bad words and ego is man's greatest right according to her. Though this may sound nonsense to some, they sure are true. The heroes realize it, the weak understand it and protest against it.

Well she has become the topic for a final year engineering student's first blog post..You may understand her genius now. Though the world financial crisis hints at the end of capitalism, the legacy of ayn rand is here to stay..can't ignore it, cowards better run.

request: read The Fountainhead and get enlightened.
